CITES -International treaty- to prevent the trade in endangered species
The international trade of wild animals does not only cause immeasurable suffering for them, but is also responsible for the extinction of numerous specimens of animals and plants. The CITES treaty was agreed on in order to save endangered species from extinction.
Commercial interests endanger the population of wildlife species
The demand for exotic pets, plants, woods and luxury items made out of fur, leather or ivory have already endangered or even exterminated a lot of species.
